Driver training car (category B)

I will accompany you competently and with fun through the driver training and prepare you optimally for your practical driving test. Note the different age categories for your training:

Emergency Response Course

The first step towards your driver's license is the first aid course if you want to drive a car or motorbike. The course must not date back more than 6 years.

In the courses you will learn the life-saving immediate measures so that you can provide first aid in an emergency. A first aid course lasts 10 hours and is valid for 6 years. It can be completed before the age of 16 and no previous knowledge is necessary. After completing the course, you will receive your electronic first aid ID card.

Eye test

The eye test must be carried out by a recognized Swiss optician or ophthalmologist and remains valid for two years. For the examination by the optician or ophthalmologist, the corresponding page of the previously completed and printed application form as well as an original identity card or passport must be presented

Fill out the application form

To obtain a learner driver's license, first fill out the application form online. Print out the completed form and sign it on both sides. (Follow the detailed description). If the online form is not available, a paper application form can be obtained from the Road Traffic Office. At the earliest, an application can be submitted 2 months before your 17th birthday.

Submit application form

When submitting an application for a learner's permit for the first time, you must appear in person at either the road traffic office counter, the municipal residents' registration office or a Bern cantonal police station. You hand in all the necessary documents, including an eye test, first aid ID card and a colored passport photo (35 x 45 mm format) attached. Do not forget your identity card or passport in the original and either your residence permit (Swiss nationals) or your original residence permit (foreign nationals).

Preparation for theory test

Before you receive your learner's license from the road traffic office, you have to pass the theory test. There are various ways you can prepare for the theory test - for example on the Internet at eL-Driver or at iTheorie.

Registration for the theory test

When you are ready, register online for the theory test. Once you have passed the theory test, you will receive your learner's permit (LFA) on site. From now on you can start taking driving lessons with me. The learner's permit is valid for 24 months.

Traffic lessons

It is recommended to attend the traffic education course alongside the driving lessons, i.e. not before the first driving lesson. For example, after 5 driving lessons, you can sign up for traffic lessons.

You have to complete the traffic education course (VKU) during the driver training in order to be allowed to take the practical test. This lasts 8 lessons and helps you to move responsibly and defensively in traffic. The course confirmation is valid for 2 years after completion.

Private driving

When driving privately with your father, mother, etc., you get routine in the processes. More routine means fewer hours with the driving instructor, which also has a positive effect on your wallet. The problem is often that your private escorts usually passed the driver's test many years ago and are therefore no longer quite "up-to-date".

Practical exam 😎

The practical exam lasts about 45 minutes. The experts check whether you can behave safely and correctly in road traffic, including motorways and highways, and when manoeuvring.
